Quick demo my band cut today :: Metal - Halo 3, Halo 2 and Halo Forum and Community

Alright guys this is a rough cut of a few riff ideas me and my new band have been working on. There's still a lot of transitions to be worked on and to be plugged in, but this is a general structure of a song idea. There are going to be some faster and heavier parts in here as well so...

It's only 4mb to please give it a listen and tell me what you think. There are no vocals, so for those who don't like metal vocal stylings, still check it out because there are no vocals to be heard.

Oh and btw this was all recorded with 4 microphones. We will have better and more thorough recordings coming. We just need more mic cables to be able to hook up my drum mics.

There's a difference between not liking something, and something sucking. Nirvana sucked. Kurt Cobaine was a no talent heroin junkie. I personally dont like Atreyu, but they are quite the talented musicians.

And if you wanna say I suck; talk to the kids who shelled out 3 band offers after I played one song last night as a filler for my little brothers friends band. After one 6 minute song... I was offered 3 drumming positions.

And my friend who plays bass, has been offered a position in bands by every set of musicians he's ever played with.

And my guitarist? In that recording he had just recovered from a broken knuckle, 6 stitches and having a slice in the bone of his middle finger.

Oh and this was the first time we have practiced these parts as a band.

So we suck right? Just wanted to clear things up.

Oh and btw, what instruments do you play and how long have you been playing them for you to have the right to say that we suck? Y'know... just curious. Ignorant fuck

im listening to it right now, its alright so far but somethings are just random and dont really go together but overall its pretty good

Well right now we just ran through the 3 basic riff ideas we had for the song. There are no transitions between parts and no solo breaks, breakdowns, etc because they havent been worked out yet. That will all hopefully come tomorrow during practice.

i dont understand why ur receiving bad feedback...that was great if u ask me..not to original (sound like every other metal song like that) but it was recorded fairly well and the musicians seemed talented

Well the originality factor is still a little bit of a problem. Me and the guys I'm playin with just started this band, and before this we played in a thrash-punk band. So, we got a little ways to go.

But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Sadly, nothing new to report after tonights practice. it was cut short and we were all exhausted for some reason. It was a lame, unproductive practice. I dont even think we made it through any covers in-full.

yeah man its pritty tight, umm its pritty generic but what metal isnt today, yeah dude you guys got some talent, and make sure when you get a Vocalist, he has a I killed the Prom queen scream it will sound Tasty, plus you should try to seek a second guitarist to get your breakdown sound better but over all SIC..
