WoW WtF
Ok...this thread is in no way flaming, I just want answers. There were several players that were unaware of Round 2 of 1v1 Tourney. As previously stated, Round 2 time was announced only a few hours before the start of the tourney. That is not NEARLY enough time especially when some of us are out doing things. Now, I know that you guys are working your hardest to make this a good tournament but you can't just bypass your errors. Me and several other people posted in the Round 2 thread that we were unaware of the time yesterday. There wasn't an official reply until like 25 min ago.
I'm not sure of an exact number but I talked to at least 4 or 5 people that were unaware of the time and I'm sure there were at least 4 or 5 matches not played which is not just "someone missing their match." But no, the tournament just continued on without any word.
I would really like a good explanation of why this problem was just ignored.

Re: WoW WtF
add me tosh lol.. original post showed times were 6-11.. i brought it up since i got on at 10:30 and my match was forfeited.. the post that said 6-11 was edited to 6-10..i never got to play my match, and i was on in the required time limits.. not fair.. the tourney shouldnt have gone on with so many people that got ripped out of their matches..
EDIT: lol i just realized how the other thread that we had legit complaints on was closed.. and we never got real answers.. Tattie if u read this.. why were the hours changed from 6-11 to 6-10 at 10:30??

Re: WoW WtF
Maybe a rule should be about notification timing so that no one will be surprised about anything again. I'm not saying you guys should have known, but this will also make sure that this will never happen again.

I don't understand what the deal is. The threads were posted in the about halomega section and generally announced shortly after that. The round 2 may have been the announcement that didn't have a link attached to it but it was still posted in a timely manner.
Did you guys just not see them?
EDIT: There has been a post about every round, every step of the way, I don't understand how you could have missed it.

It's not really that we didn't see the Round 2 thread...it's just that the Round 2 thread was posted i think at like 12:00 pm yesterday and the tourney was at 6 with no prior knowledge that the tourney was going to be held that day or time. There wasn't much warning and a lot of us weren't on for that time period.

Well the post was made way way earlier in the about section, I just screwed up the announcement when I linked it that morning. So it didn't link anywhere. I can see where that might have been confusing but it was still there. If you were concerned about the tournament and didn't log on for 6-12 hours looking for it, then I'm not sure there is much I can do.
We have really tried to get this tournament finished in a timely manner. It was to big to start with, it never should have been a 64 man tournament. We were seriously lacking resources to make it happen.
I am sorry if it seemed hurried or pushed, or wasn't as organized as it could have been. This has been a learning experience. The next Tourney we hold will be much more structured and smaller.
In the big picture, we simply bit off more than we could chew and are trying to get it completed in the best way we currently know how.
I apologize if you didn't get enough preparation and I hope that that next time we don't have these problems.

Re: WoW WtF
Much smaller Vorlx? What does that mean? I'm sure it will be more organized, but smaller?...
Anyways, the threads were up for awhile before the actual games, sorry you missed them.
Don't worry though, it's only one tournament, there will be others!

Yah, I don't anticipate any 64 man tournaments in the near future. Half that for 2v2/ffa type stuff, but ideally maybe even 16 man 1v1. I would like to see tournaments done in couple days rather than strunge out over so many.

Maybe people were awaiting an announcement, plus shouldnt it be posted in the tournaments section? the only thing that seems to go there is Locked in Lockout.

Re: WoW WtF
Either tonight or when I take a lunch break, that is unless Vorlx beats me to it, I'm going to link EVERY thread made about the tournament, and post the times in which they were made. I specifically remember posting in a thread which asked about the times for round 2, and due to tattie being asleep at the time we were unable to give exacts, but it was posted in there that the games would be held AT THE SAME TIME AS ROUND 1. As I said before, I'm going to look up each thread and we'll go from there.
