HoC Update -- August
Well, as most of you are aware, school is coming up fast for everyone, and since the site is doing so well, I'm going to play it safe and not give the site a chance to get all flamed up. With that being said, you'll notice a few changes over the next few days, as we'll be re-evaluating our current mod staff, and adding a few new faces as well. For those of you that for some reason haven't clicked the "View Admins/Mods" button on the bottom of the home page, here's you a list of our current mod/admin staff:

Each of those listed there were asked to nominate members who they thought would be good mods. They were all allowed to nominate up to 3. Mike and I then sat down and did a little reasearch on each "candidate" that was brought to our attention, and we narrowed the list down quite dramatically. It was based on several different issues, and popularity played no part in it whatsoever.
After the last few mod votes we've had, we decided that it would be best if the admins/mods decided who to add to the staff, as it turns into a popularity vote otherwise. This will be the way that the mod list stays, assuming that everyone does their job untill we surpass 2500 members. Here is the list that we came up with.

With school coming up, I'm hoping that we get quite a few more members due to you continuing to spread the word about the site, as Mike and I have already begun shopping for a new server to handle the workload of having that many members on at once. I have been very impressed with the amount of active members that we have on this site, and we've broken every record from
www.halownage.com thus far, and doubled it in quite a few instances. Please continue to spread the word about HoC, and remember to keep telling people to put your name in the spot for the referral when they sign up for the site as that is also something that goes into considering who the next mod should be.
Vid Server
The vid server is back up, so you can expect to be seeing some new vids up as soon as possible. I was just given access to it last night, so I've got to get all the accounts set up on it and get the guys to start uploading all the vids that they have. If you have a nice collection of vids on your comp that you have d/led from here, pm me or hit me up on AIM so that I can get a list of them. We're in the process of trying to track down all the old vids and get them added to the system again.
Snipe/Stick/Sig of the Month
All three have been rolled out again, and yet again have brought out some serious pwnage captured on vid. Make sure you vote each week for who you think got the most 1337 kill/gfx designs in their categories. If you have any submissions, PM Russia with a link and he'll let you know when it will be coming out so that you can let all of your friends know.
Gameplay of the Month
Tattie and Jymdez brought this idea up, and I think it will be a hit. The only reason that it hasn't been rolled out yet is due to the vid server, and the fact that we haven't begun to take in a lot of gameplays since we haven't had a place to host them. Be watching the site for a thread outlining the submission rules for each gameplay to be submitted in the next few days.
Montages
As always, if you or anyone that you know has a montage that they need hosted, let me know. I will host virtually any montage/gameplay which you send me, absolutely free. All that I ask is that you have either our HoC Vid Intro in it, or a custom one that is rape in place of it. If it's rape enough, we'll get it into the announcements and get you even more traffic. Otherwise, I'll make a thread about it and pm you w/ a link to the vid so that you can tell all your friends about it.
HoC Sponsored Online Team
It's something that has been asked for several times, and you have not been ignored on this issue. I've began talks with several different tourney sites, most of which Tosh has linked me to, on trying to come up with a deal which would be beneficial to both sites. Once that deal is done, I'd like to get an online team which would represent HoC by playing in tourneys, etc. More details will be given as all of them are worked out, so you can expect to hear something about that this month as well. In the mean time, get your team together and make sure that you get plenty of practice in, because it won't be something that is just handed out. You will have to work VERY hard to earn the sponsorship, that much I guarantee you.
Official HoC Tourney Hosting Team
I am also working with a few members and helping them get set up to run each of the HoC Tourneys which will be held, and you can expect to see the first one run by a dedicated staff to be rolling our sometime soon. If you are interested in helping out with this venture, then PM me and I'll get you in touch with the right guys depending on who needs help with what on getting the tourney rolled out and launched. Assuming this is a hit, then we'll get a team of members together to run the HoC League as well and get that in the mix. It's looking to be a very very busy August, so prepare to have a ton of things going on.
